They usually hide a secret passage. Hint: If you're low on mana, push the monsters into water or lava using the repulsion discs. You won't get any experience, but you won't be wined and dined on either. Hint: The Assassin can crouch under her booby traps, so set one up, duck underneath, and find some monsters to lead astray.
