You will be awarded extra points just for placing these, fc5 plus the turrets will attack and kill most enemies who come within its range, giving whoever set up that turret the kill points. The sensors allow the turrets to attack enemies that are longer distances away from the turrets position. This is also an easier way to hold a base during capture and hold missions/matches.
